Ceremonial Cacao

raw food recipes Jun 24, 2019

Cacao is revered in the Native American cultures as a plant medicine and is used as ceremonial cacao. The cacao bean is sacred and all you need is one taste of this delicious brew to know why.

But there is more to cacao than just your taste buds. It is loaded with vital nutrients, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Apparently cacao is in close competition with our berry friends when it comes to antioxidant power, and it is a great source of our needed magnesium.

Raw, powdered cacao is full of flavonoids, which act as natural antioxidants. Antioxidants protect the body from ageing and disease caused by free radicals.

Cacao, being as strong and bitter as it is, can stimulate the liver to detox.

  • 1 tsp raw coconut butter
